Macon WINS State 4-H Shooting Sports Tournament

Macon 4-H Sharp Shooters participated in the State 4-H Shooting Sports Tournament, held October 10 at the Millstone 4-H Facility in Ellerbe, NC. There were over 290 participants from across the state. The Macon County Team, including Carly Buchanan, Jakin Ivey and Chandon Ivey, won first place in the air rifle with a score of 70.33, each receiving a Gold Medal. The next highest team, scored 61.67. Lisa Walker just received $100 from NC State for the two Project Record Books she submitted last January. She won two Gold Medals for her 2008 Project Books in Animal Science and Consumer & Family Science for the 9-10 age group. Way to go, Lisa!! Hard work DOES pay off! ... MORE
