Three Part Series May 2, 9, & 16

The most recently released Dietary Guidelines for Americans include the Healthy Mediterranean-Style Eating pattern among its recommendations. This eating pattern has been shown to promote health and decrease the risk of many chronic diseases. Macon County Extension will be offering a series of three cooking classes focusing on the healthy Mediterranean Style Eating Pattern. The hands on class will focus on incorporating more vegetables and seafood into the diet as well as chicken, turkey and plant based proteins. We will explore replacing saturated fats with olive and canola oils as well as learning to incorporate nuts, seeds and whole grain into our menus. The class will start at 9:30 a.m. and will finish with the group sitting down lunch at noon.

Cost:  $10.00 per class or $25.00 for all three classes.

Call 349-2046 to register. Space is limited. Payment must be received to hold your place in the class.
