COVID-19 has made life difficult for all of us in 2020 and some of you have called asking about pesticide credits. You may be aware that the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has extended the deadline this year to get your credits until November 30, 2020. Just in the past few weeks have extension been able to increase our face-to-face programming as the state continues to open up. We are now to a place that I can offer face to face pesticide recertification classes. I am planning on having two dates available before the deadline for you to attend and get your credits. I also know that some of you may not feel comfortable yet being in and around a group of people. The state has approved some online training. If you would like to opt for online training as opposed to face-to-face training that is perfectly fine. If you wish to do the online training, please contact me for information on how to access these training sessions. Unfortunately, some online courses do come with a fee and I currently haven’t found a V credit online.

There will be a pesticide recertification class on Thursday, October 29 at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Macon County Center, 193 Thomas Heights Road. The class is from 1 to 5 p.m. It will provide 2 hours recertification credit for ‘V’ category safety training and 2 hours recertification of ‘X’ category safety training. If you receive this letter, our records indicate your certification will expire this year and you have not completed the ‘V’ and ‘X’ training needed for recertification. Please try to attend this meeting to ensure you meet your recertification requirements. Please call if you have any questions.

If you are unsure of credits needed please call me at 828-349-2046.
