Brown marmorated stink bug trapBrown marmorated stink bug populations continue to increase throughout the region. Captures on pheromone traps averaged 21.7 in Cleveland County and 28.1 in Henderson County. These are high numbers, and indicate that they still pose a threat to late-maturing apples. An insecticide application is recommended on anything that will be harvested in more than two weeks. Based on the degree-day model, first generation emergence is approximately 50, 75 and 97% complete in Henderson, Wilkes and Cleveland Counties.
