In addition to our local 4-H Clubs, there are several ways to get involved or stay involved with 4-H in spring 2022. Choose what looks most interesting to you, and start learning by doing.

Electric Club Interest Meeting

It’s electric – we are forming an electric-focused 4-H Club! The best way to learn more is to attend the countywide interest meeting on March 22, 2022 at 6 p.m. The purpose of the interest meeting is to share about the new club and gather feedback from those who are interested in joining.

Please register here for the interest meeting by March 20.

Help at 4-H’s Ag Expo Booth — Or Visit the Expo

Caldwell County 4-H will be exhibiting at the Caldwell Agriculture Expo on March 25-26. Members and volunteers are needed for the exhibitor booth on Friday and Saturday. Families may sign up here to help. Helpers should also be enrolled in 4-H Online for 2022.

Students attending Caldwell County Schools will be excused from school while they are helping 4-H. Our booth will be based on the “Become a Food Systems Detective” activity.

Saturday, March 26 is open to the public, so please also stop by with your family that day to enjoy the community event. It will take place at the Caldwell Agriculture Fairgrounds.

Archery Interest Meeting

Caldwell County is forming a new 4-H Club focused around the sport of archery. The interest meeting will be May 19 at 6:00 p.m. at the Caldwell Agricultural Fairgrounds. Families are welcome to register on Eventbrite ahead of the interest meeting to help us prepare for it.

Caldwell County Activity Day

4-H presentations are a vital part of the 4-H program. Every 4-H member can profit in some way from preparing and presenting a presentation. 4-H alumni who have participated in 4-H presentations often say their experiences built communication skills, public speaking skills, poise, confidence, organizational skills, research skills, and thought expression.

Cloverbuds can participate in Show and Tell. Members can prepare a presentation or public speaking piece. Presentations are best when props and slides are used, and they can be presented individually or as part of a team.

The tentative time and date for our County Activity Day is the morning of May 21. More details will be announced shortly.

Junior Leader Training (Apply before April 29)

Later on May 21, team training will be in-person for Junior Leaders. It is expected that all new Junior Leaders attend the team training. Returning Junior Leaders are also highly encouraged to attend. Additional details will be shared with approved applicants.

Apply to be a 2022 Junior Leader here. The application closes April 29, 2022 at noon.

District and State Events

4-H offers district and state level events as well. These events are not managed by Caldwell County 4-H, but they are fun and educational like any other 4-H program. View district and state events on our Upcoming Events page or in 4-H Online under the “Events” tab.
