Would you like to have your own flock of chickens? Here is the opportunity you are looking for. In April, we will start the 2022 4-H Poultry Project - for Ages 5-18.
Please check out the following details:- Start with the Poultry 101 School on Saturday April 2nd from 10 - 12:00 and learn what you need to know about how to raise and show chickens.
- In mid-April you will receive 3 Golden Comet hens and a 25lb bag of chick starter feed.
- Throughout the summer, we will check in with you as you raise your chicks.
- Shows - your chicks will be ready to show at our local fall fairs such as the Macon County Fair, Mountain State Fair and Swain County Fair.
- Look for your hens to be ready to lay eggs around September or October.
