N.C. Cooperative Extension in Macon County is happy to introduce Kaiya Pickens our new 4-H/EFNEP Program Assistant.

Kaiya is from Murphy, NC.  She graduated from UNC Asheville where she obtained her degree in Ecology & Health & Wellness Promotion.  Kaiya enjoys horseback riding, gardening, foraging, wildlife, hunting and cooking.

Kaiya will be working 50% 4-H with the Clubs and 50% EFNEP teaching Health & Nutrition classes in the schools.  She is excited to have a job that allows her to remain in our beautiful mountains while making the connection between agriculture and nutrition.

We are excited to welcome Kaiya and know she will be a great addition to Extension.
