In mid-November, WNC Communities hosted their 76th Annual WNC Honors Awards that recognizes rural development community clubs for their innovative ideas, volunteer leadership, along with efforts and programs at the grass roots level. Macon County was well represented with over 300 folks in attendance representing over 81 clubs throughout WNC.
Congratulations go to Carson, Clarks Chapel and Upper Cartoogechaye communities for winning Best in Class for the Trillium category ($750 ea.); and to Holly Springs, Nantahala, Otto and Scaly Mtn Historical Society who were Best in Class for the Mountain Laurel category ($1,250 ea.). Additionally, Otto Community Club was a featured Community in the Best Practices Gallery! Way to go!
