Kim Terrell, FCS Agent with Macon County Cooperative Extension, visited with Mrs. Heather McClure's Child Development Class at Franklin High School this week. Terrell shared her background and career path with students as well as her expertise in nutrition. Students learned the importance of nutrition in growth and development, the stages of infant/toddler feeding, appropriate foods and textures, and healthy snack options. After the lesson, students prepared a healthy, kid-friendly snack from whole grain bread, a nut or cream cheese spread and fresh fruit.
