Collapse ▲Display is a new PPO defoliant released by FMC last August. Display is a mix of the herbical defoliant Aim, which you may have some familiarity, and a herbicide called Cadet. We have very limited experience with the product here in NC when it was a numbered compound in one research trial in 2011. Below is information from Arkansas. These type of defoliants typically do better in cooler conditions where desiccation of juvenile growth is less likely.
Display™: Display is a new cotton harvest aid that is a combination of the herbicides carfentrazone (Aim®) and fluthiacet¬methyl (Cadet™). Similar to other herbicidal defoliants, Display™ has excellent activity on juvenile leaves including regrowth. However, Display™ will not inhibit regrowth. Under warm conditions, less ¬than ¬desirable defolia¬tion and excessive desiccation may be observed. In situations in which two applications are necessary, Display™ has performed very well when included in the second application. Display™ has shown excellent activity in desiccating morningglories. In situations with thick vines, Display™ alone or in combination with other defoliants will desiccate morningglories very well. Addition of 1% v/v crop oil concentrate or 0.25% v/v NIS is needed. Labeled Rates: 0.3 – 1.0 oz per acre.
