From Farm to Fridge

Macon County Summer Edventure Camp students rolled up their sleeves last week to learn the art of food preservation—thanks to a fun and flavorful partnership with the N.C. Cooperative Extension.

After picking fresh cucumbers and berries at H&H Farms, campers dove into hands-on kitchen lessons with Kim Terrell, FCS Agent and Kaiya Spies, nutrition educator,  making Quick Refrigerator Pickles and Strawberry Freezer Jam from scratch.

Not only did they sharpen their cooking skills—they brought home sweet memories and homemade jam!
