Free Garden Tour

— Written By

The Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Macon County invite the public to a free tour of the gardens at the Macon County Environmental Resource Center on Saturday, June 22, 2019, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A plant sale and gardeners yard sale will be happening too.

The gardens are at 1624 Lakeside Drive, Franklin, next to the Landfill. Native plants and cultivars that grow well in our area are displayed. Perennials, woody ornamentals, ground covers, shrubs, trees, heritage plants, fruits, vegetables, and herbs are shown. A butterfly garden on the monarch trail, a rock garden, meditation garden, and a shiitake mushroom log stack are also included.

Families, children, and dogs on leash are welcome. Have you ever really seen a paw-paw tree? Come discover one in the garden. The gardens are part of the educational work of the NC State Extension. For additional information call 828-369-7352.
