Attention Organization Leaders:
County Fair time is almost here again! This year’s Macon County Fair will be held September 18-21, 2024. The theme is “Bringing the Harvest Home” The Fair Association extends to you the opportunity to construct an educational booth using this theme. This is an excellent time to better acquaint the public with your organization. Booths must be constructed on Monday, September 16th (one day only). All work on educational booths must be completed between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., on Monday, to be eligible for judging. Booth size is approximately 8 feet wide by 6 feet deep with a 6-foot high backdrop. Booths dismantled prior to the official close of the fair will result in your organization not receiving any promotions or awards and disqualification from participation the following year. The building will be open on Sunday, September 22, from 2–5 p.m. and Monday, September 23, from 9 a.m.–noon so that you may complete removal of your booth. Please consider donating some of the contents of your booth (e.g., pumpkins, apples, cornstalks, flowers, etc.) to the fair to be auctioned at the Harvest Sale. These items can be left in your empty booth. The Fair Association Board of Directors has established the following guidelines: All educational booths should portray the theme of the fair. Educational booths should avoid specific political issues or partisan issues. The fair should not be used as a political platform. Promoting, advertising or endorsement of candidates is not allowed. Educational booths shall not be manned. Hand distribution of literature is not permitted. Appropriate literature may be placed in your booth for pick-up. Please complete the request form below and return it to N.C. Cooperative Extension of Macon County, c/o Debbie Hunter, 193 Thomas Height Rd., Franklin, NC 28734, if your organization is interested in an educational booth at the County Fair. Booth spaces will be allotted by the Educational Booth Committee. Requests for educational booth space must be returned prior to Friday, August 23, 2024. For more information or if you have any questions please contact Debbie at 828.349.2050.
